Hi, I'm Billy. I've spent over 16 years learning, playing, and performing on drums and percussion across a variety of styles and settings. For the past 4 years, I've been teaching students of all ages and experience levels, helping them build confidence, develop solid technique, and enjoy their journey behind the kit. My lessons are tailored to each student, creating a supportive and engaging environment where they can progress at their own pace while developing real musical skills.
A key part of my teaching approach is helping students become independent musicians. I encourage students to practice effectively on their own, listen critically, and solve musical problems independently. Rather than simply memorising songs or exercises, students learn how rhythms work, how grooves are constructed, and how to keep improving outside of lessons.
Exposure to a wide range of musical styles creates more versatile and well-rounded drummers. Lessons are tailored to the student's interests while introducing grooves, techniques, and musical concepts from different genres to improve timing, dynamics, coordination, musicality, and adaptability.
Strong technique is the foundation of confident and relaxed drumming. I focus on healthy playing habits from the beginning so students can play comfortably, efficiently, and with good control as the music becomes more challenging.
Every student has different goals, interests, strengths, and learning styles, so lessons are personalised to suit the individual. Some students focus on songs and performing, while others enjoy technique, improvisation, or reading music. Lessons match each student's pace and interests while still giving clear structure for progression.

This business has grown out of my passion for teaching drums. By opening my own space for teaching I am able to give the best experience to all my students in a professional learning environment.
